Questions & Answers

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Creating these custom presentations is time consuming, but I also understand the need to keep the price reasonable for churches.  I want to stress that these custom presentations are more than static slides or templates, they are custom designed with photos and animations to fully compliment the pastor's message. With that in mind, the price is $100 dollars per presentation. In addition, for Senior Pastor's that are considering using my services on a regular basis, I would like to offer a FREE custom presentation with no obligation. This will give you an opportunity to show the presentation to your congregation and allow us to work together with no financial risk to your church. No contract is required, so you can stop the service at any time.

Q: What is the catch to the free presentation?

A: Since I do all the work myself and my time is limited, I can only offer free presentations to Senior Pastors who are considering using my service to enhance their weekly messages.  At your Senior Pastor's request I will create a free custom presentation for your church with absolutely no obligations to your church.

Q: I am uneasy about allowing someone I don’t know (and who doesn’t attend my church) to create such an important part of my message.

A: The uneasiness will probably only go away after you have been working with me for a few weeks. However, if you can get your outline to me early in the week, I can get it back to you in time for you to review it and send it back to me for revisions. If you are interested I will contact you by phone and we can get to know each other. If you live in the Southern California area, I would love to visit you in person.

To give you a little personal information, I consider myself an Evangelical Christian of 20 years. During that time, I have led Bible studies for all ages, from 1st grade to Young Adults.  I led Junior Church for more years than I can remember and led a Bible study at the Southwest Detention Center (a maximum security jail) for over 4 years.  I was born and raised in Southern California and have been married to the same beautiful wife for 25 years.  My 2 sons were homeschooled from kindergarten through high school and are now attending a local college.  Finally, I have been creating the PowerPoint presentations sampled on this website for the last 3½  years.

Q. Will this distract from my Pastor's message?

A: These messages are custom designed to enhance your Pastor's message and will help the congregation remember what is being taught. I used to worry that a confusing photo might be a distraction, but from experience in my own church I learned that as people try to figure out what the photo has to do with the point, they are burning the point into their memory.

Q: I noticed a number of pictures in the presentation demos; do I have to supply the pictures for the presentation?

A: It is certainly OK if you would like to supply all or some of the photos for your presentation; however, it is not necessary.  If they are not supplied, I will do my best to find pictures that highlight your points and generate interest. Any ideas you have for photos that will highlight a point are also welcome.  For some presentations you may not want photos and they can be left out at your request.

Q: We live in a culturally diverse society; will that be reflected in the pictures you select for the presentation?

A: Although I have access to tens of thousands of photos, this is sometimes a difficult task, since photos must also reinforce the points being presented in the message.  Being raised in Southern California, I am very sensitive to and proud of the racial diversity in our churches. Therefore, great care goes into selecting photos which reflect this diversity.

Q. Can video be added into the presentation?

A: Yes, video can be added to PowerPoint presentations however there can be some compatibility issues, so we would need to do some testing. YouTube videos can be added into presentations if the computer running the presentation has a live connection to the internet.

Q: I noticed that the demo videos were set to music; can sound effects be added the presentations?

A: The elevator music was added to these demos, because they are excruciatingly boring without a Pastor’s message to give them interest. None of them were created with sound so as not to distract from the Pastor’s message. Sound effects or music can be added to PowerPoint presentations if you feel it will enhance the message and if it is requested by you.

Q: What software is used to create the presentation and what will be needed to show it in my church?

A: The presentations are created using Microsoft PowerPoint 2007, and they will need to be presented to your congregation using the same software. Microsoft makes a free PowerPoint viewer, but it cannot handle the complexity of these presentations.  A full version of PowerPoint 2007 and the computer hardware to run it will be needed.  This software is not expensive and is easily purchased.

Q: Once I provide you with the material, how long does it take to create the presentation?

A: I would like to have 2 or 3 days to create the presentation; however, in emergency situations it can be done in a single day.

Q: How do I supply the material for the presentation to you?

A: It can be emailed to me as a Word, PDF or text document. If it is in a hand written form it can be scanned and emailed as an attachment. You can provide just the points (or outline) you want in the presentation or you can provide the entire message with the presentation portions highlighted.  Providing me with the entire message helps me select appropriate photos, since it will give me a better understanding of the message. The completed presentations will be about 5 megabytes in size and will be emailed to you.

Q. How do we get started?

A: Send me an email (linn@7tx7.net) or call me at my home phone (951-677-3142) and I will email or call you with the details.

Q: I have many more questions; how do I get them answered?

A: The best way to get your questions answered is to send me an email requesting that I call you back.  I can also answer your questions via email (linn@7tx7.net) or telephone. My home phone number is 951-677-3142.
